3/4 cup Shortening
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Molasses
1 Egg
2 1/4 cup Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Ginger
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Cloves

Cream together shortening, brown sugar, molasses, egg.
Sift together dry ingredients and then mix with creamed mixture.
Form into balls, roll in white sugar.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes.
