Alma Castle Blair's Angel Pie

1 1/2 c. sugar
3 heaping tablespoonfuls cornstarch
salt
2 c. hot water

Add dry ingredients to hot water. Cook until thick and clear. Cool.
Beat 3 egg whites real stiff. Add filling, little vanilla, chopped nuts.
Pour into pie shell. Chill. Serve with whipped cream.
