Cream 1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
Sift together: 1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
add to creamed mixture
Add: 2 cups quick oatmeal
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Mix well.
Press and mold into two long smooth rolls.
Wrap in waxed paper. Chill several hours.
Slice and bake at 400 degrees oven for 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown.
